Chiropractic Adjustments are the Keystone to our Treatment of Patients at Evanston Chiropractic
The purpose of a chiropractic adjustment is to address the Subluxation complex.
The Subluxation complex is the malalignment of the vertebra of the spine causingabnormal neurological responses/actions/reactions. Chiropractic adjustments use a force to correct the misalignment of the spine and correct function. Since patients as individuals have varied states of health we use different types of techniques to address the individual.
For example, someone who presents with osteoporosis would benefit more from a light metered force rather than a manual adjustment. The doctor will take into account your current health status to help him determine which form of adjustment would be best suited for you. Additionally, he will take the time to listen to your input and past treatment history, as well as monitor your response to treatments in order to select the best form of chiropractic adjustment for your needs.
The forms of techniques used in our office include: instrument (a light metered force), manual/diversified, flexion/distraction (a decompressive type adjustment), drop table, and digital pressure and touch.
